1/3 cup whole milk

1 tablespoon pure dark maple syrup (Maple From Canada)

2 shots espresso

Pinch freshly grated nutmeg, plus more for the top
Directions
- To make the frothed milk, mix together the milk and maple syrup and heat until very warm but not simmering. You can do this in the microwave, on the stove, or using the steam function on an espresso maker. Froth the warmed milk using either a manual frother, an espresso machine, or by shaking the warmed milk very vigorously in a sealed 1 cup glass jar.
- Pour the espresso into the bottom of a large mug and stir in the nutmeg. Pour over the frothed maple milk and finish with a grating of fresh nutmeg.
- *If desired, one cup of strong black coffee can be used in place of the espresso.
