Minari namul


  • 1 bunch minari (Korean Dropwort), 6-8 ounces
  • 1 scallion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Salt to taste (about 1/4 teaspoon)


  1. Wash the minari thoroughly.
  2. In a pot, bring ten cups of water to a boil with a couple of pinches of salt.
  3. Blanch the minari until wilted, 30-45 seconds.
  4. Quickly remove it from the pot and shock in cold water.
  5. Drain and gently squeeze to remove excess water from the minari.
  6. In a small bowl, add the minced garlic, sesame seeds, and sesame oil with the minari, and mix well. 
  7. Serve as a side dish.
