Ingredients

1 pound shrimp

2 cups flour

2 cups popped popcorn, then blended into powder

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

2 cups vegetable oil to fry

Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Make popcorn ahead of time using a microwavable bag of popcorn, then blend it in order to make a popcorn “flour”.
- In a bowl mix together the flour, popcorn flour, cayenne, garlic powder and salt and pepper.
- For 1 hour, soak the shrimp in buttermilk in order to marinate.
- Dip the shrimp from the buttermilk and shake in the flour mixture to coat and put aside.
- In a pot with hot oil ready to fry, drop the shrimp in and deep fry until golden brown. About 2-4 minutes.
- Using a slotted spoon, drain the shrimp in paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve with your favourite hot sauce and enjoy!
