Quick and easy glazed doughnuts
Ingredients
Doughnuts:
- 1 store bought pizza dough
- 8 cups vegetable oil
Glaze:
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
Directions
- To make the doughnuts and doughnut holes add vegetable oil to a dutch oven or heavy bottomed pot. Heat oil until it reaches 350°.
- While the oil is heating, roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface. Using a glass (or a doughnut cutter if you have one) punch out doughnuts. If you are using a glass to punch them out, use a shot glass to punch out the holes.
- Frying in batches add doughnuts a few at a time to the hot oil. Use tongs or chopsticks to turn the doughnuts after a few minutes. Once browned on both sides remove to a paper towel lined baking sheet. Repeat until all the dough has been used.
- To make the glaze add icing sugar and milk to a large bowl and mix until smooth.
- To glaze the doughnuts simply dunk them in the glaze and turn to coat.
- Serve with chocolate and caramel sauce. Enjoy!
