Saffron and lemon chicken wings
Ingredients
- 907 grams chicken wings
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 cup yoghurt
- 1 teaspoon saffron
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 4 lemons
Directions
- Put chicken wings in a large mixing bowl.
- Add salt and generously rub into the wings.
- Add pepper.
- Add diced onion.
- Add turmeric.
- Rub the onion, salt, pepper, and turmeric into the wings.
- Juice four lemons and add to the bowl.
- Add cup of yoghurt.
- Grind saffron and add to half a cup of boiling water (let sit for a few minutes).
- Add saffron water to the bowl.
- Cover and add to fridge – let marinate overnight or four to six hours.
- Remove wings from the fridge and let sit until it reaches room temperature.
- Turn on your grill and cook wings until skin is crispy (about 15 minutes on a metal skewer; 25 minutes if they aren’t on a skewer).
