Superfood beet smoothie

We absolutely adore this smoothie’s bright pink colour, courtesy of the phytonutrients in the beets and strawberries. Fruit gives the smoothie a sweet flavour, and you’ll be happily surprised by how the citrus calms the earthiness of the beets—so much so that you can barely taste them. Ginger gives this a little extra spicy kick, which will help altered taste buds and nausea.
NUTRITION NOTE: The turmeric in this smoothie pro-vides potent anti-inflammatory properties, and the pinch of pepper helps increase the absorbability of the turmeric.

Ingredients
- ½ cup unsweetened dairy-free milk
- ½ cup unsweetened coconut water
- 2 tablespoon coarsely chopped beet (raw or cooked)
- 10 small or 5 large strawberries, chopped
- ½ banana, peeled
- ⅓ cup orange segments
- ½ teaspoon minced peeled ginger root
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- Pinch of pepper
Directions
- Add ingredients and blend together.
