Taco pizza
Ingredients
Taco seasoning:
- 1 tablespoon (15 milliliters) chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tablespoon (7.5 milliliters) ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) ginger powder
- 1/2 tablespoon (7.5 milliliters) salt
Taco pizza:
- 450 grams lean ground beef
- 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) canola oil
- 1 large pizza dough, store-bought and thawed
- 1 cup (240 milliliters) cheddar and mozzarella, grated
- 1 cup (240 milliliters) lettuce, shredded
- 1 large tomato, chopped
- 1/3 cup (80 milliliters) tomato sauce or pizza sauce, store-bought
- 1/4 cup (60 milliliters) sour cream
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
- Hard taco shells, crushed into small pieces
- Taco seasoning
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and stir. Set aside for Taco Pizza.
- Preheat oven to 400F (205C).
- In a frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook for three to four minutes, or until the meat starts to brown.
- Add two to three tablespoons (30-45 milliliters) of taco seasoning and stir.
- Cook for another four to five minutes or until meat is cooked through.
- Remove from heat and set aside for pizza.
- Roll out pizza dough and form a crust using your fingertips.
- Place pizza dough on a lightly floured baking tray.
- Top dough with tomato sauce, and spread all over without covering the crust.
- Add cooked ground beef over the sauce, then top with the cheese.
- Add jalapeños over the cheese, and place pizza in the oven.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove pizza from oven.
- Garnish pizza with lettuce, tomatoes and crushed taco shells.
- Drizzle sour cream over the garnish and serve pizza hot.
