Ingredients
2 12” pre-baked pizza crusts OR 2 large 12” round flatbreads
1 cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1 cup shredded provolone
1/2 large red onion, thinly sliced
12 slices of spicy soppressata
5 spicy Italian sausages, casings removed and browned into small pieces
Honey and chilli flakes to finish (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 450°F.
Lay out both crusts or flatbreads on a work surface, divide and evenly spread the sauce between the two, leaving a little border around the edge, and sprinkle with a combination of both cheeses.
It’s topping time! Evenly divide the onion, sausage, and soppressata between the two. Place one onto the other and then place it on a pizza pan (a perforated pizza pan works well here).
Bake the pizza sandwich for 17 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the crust has browned. Remove from the oven, drizzle the top with honey, and sprinkle with chili flakes. Let the sandwich rest for five to 10 minutes before slicing into it. Enjoy!
