Ingredients
6 medium (8 oz bag) Lebanese (Arabic) bread
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (or a little more)
1/2 cup Zaatar blend
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°
F.
Prepare two shallow baking trays lined with parchment paper.
Open up each loaf of bread by pulling it apart to have two layers. Now you will have 12 layers.
Using a pizza cutter or knife cut into strips or triangles. Lay the cut pieces on the trays evenly without overlapping.
With a pastry brush dab olive oil on the surface of each piece of bread. Use more if needed.
Sprinkle on the surface randomly the Zaatar blend. If desired sprinkle some cayenne pepper.
Bake in preheated oven until lightly golden and crisp. Approximately 10 minutes. Watch carefully to not burn.
Cool completely.
Serve like a crostini with any dip, cheese, or
Tabbouleh
for a flavorful crunch.
Enjoy!
