Masala chai

Chai is for everyone, from all walks of life, and Masala chai is definitely one of the more popular Chai out there, it’s nutty, earthy and a bit spicy. The beauty of this chai is that you absolutely don’t have to put all the different kinds of spices in there, just pick and choose based on your preference.

Ingredients
- Jug of water
- Chai mix
- 3 tablespoons black tea or 3 black tea bags
- Thumb-sized knob of ginger
- Milk
- Gur (concentrated cane sugar) or sugar
Directions
- Fill a medium saucepan halfway with water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Add a couple of spoonfuls of the chai mix, black tea and ginger and boil for five minutes to infuse flavours into the water. Fill the pot with milk, the colour should be orange or golden.
- Bring the mixture back to a boil, turn the heat to low and simmer for another five minutes.
- Add sugar, mix and taste for sweetness.
- Strain your tea into your cup and enjoy.
