Elvis French Toast

This French toast recipe has all the ingredients loved by the King of Rock n’ Roll: peanut butter, banana, and bacon–and yes, it gets even more decadent when you top it all off with condensed milk peanuts, golden syrup, cinnamon and mint—just to make sure this brunch dish is just as over the top as Elvis himself.

Ingredients

  • 3 slices of milk bread or shokupan
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons softened salted butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons bacon bits
  • 1 banana, diced
  • Toppings: Condensed milk, peanuts, golden syrup, cinnamon, and mint

Directions

  1. Heat oil to 350° F. 
  2. Dice bananas. In a separate bowl, combine the peanut butter and softened salted butter.
  3. Fill each layer of bread with three tablespoons of smooth peanut butter mixture, diced bananas and bacon bits.
  4. Remove crusts to form a cube and beat eggs in a separate shallow bowl.
  5. Cover the entire toast with egg and deep fry for four to five minutes or until golden brown on both sides. 
  6. If available, plate the toast with more bacon bits, condensed milk, cinnamon, golden corn syrup, and chopped toasted peanuts + mint leaf sprig. Enjoy!
