Some great add-ins to this are ginger or orange zest mixed into the apple mixture. You can tweak the spices to your preference.

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon All-purpose flour

Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and flour and toss to combine. Set aside.
Topping
Make the crisp topping by placing the diced butter in another bowl.
Add the brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and oats and combine with a fork until crumbly.
Assemble and Serve
Assemble the crisp by placing half the apple slices in a large mug or small ramekin. Dot half the crisp mixture on top. Layer the remaining apple slices on top of that and finish with the remaining crisp topping.
Place in the microwave and cook for 2-3 minutes until the apples are soft and the crisp topping has melted and become crispy at the edges.
Serve warm and enjoy! Try it with freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
