Ingredients
- 450 grams of ground beef (ideally chuck or round)
- Sea salt (a few good pinches)
- Freshly ground pepper (about 4-5 good cranks from your trusty pepper mill)
- 1 teaspoon canola or vegetable oil to grill pan
- 1 cup grated orange cheddar
- 6 slices aged white cheddar sliced
- 3 cheese infused burger buns (buy best quality possible)
- 6 slices applewood smoked bacon
- 6 slices peameal bacon
- Nice bread and butter pickles
- BBQ sauce as garnish
Directions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, grated cheddar, tablespoon of bbq sauce, salt and pepper. Mix evenly with your hands.
- Build three burger patties using all the meat.
- Put grill pan on med/high heat.
- Pour canola oil in the pan and coat the entire surface area of the pan.
- Place burgers on and let cook for four minutes, then flip and cook for another four minutes.
- Let burgers rest for another four minutes. (while this is happening, place sliced cheddar on the resting burger, so the heat from the burger melts the cheese a bit)
- While burgers are resting, cook off all bacon.
- Now, you can build your burger.
- Pile it high. Burger bun, then the patty, then the bacon and garnish with BBQ sauce and pickles. Booyah.
