Ingredients
450 grams of ground beef (ideally chuck or round)
Sea salt (a few good pinches)
Freshly ground pepper (about 4-5 good cranks from your trusty pepper mill)
1 teaspoon canola or vegetable oil to grill pan
1 cup grated orange cheddar
6 slices aged white cheddar sliced
3 cheese infused burger buns (buy best quality possible)
6 slices applewood smoked bacon
6 slices peameal bacon
Nice bread and butter pickles
BBQ sauce as garnish
Directions
In a bowl, mix ground beef, grated cheddar, tablespoon of bbq sauce, salt and pepper. Mix evenly with your hands.
Build three burger patties using all the meat.
Put grill pan on med/high heat.
Pour canola oil in the pan and coat the entire surface area of the pan.
Place burgers on and let cook for four minutes, then flip and cook for another four minutes.
Let burgers rest for another four minutes. (while this is happening, place sliced cheddar on the resting burger, so the heat from the burger melts the cheese a bit)
While burgers are resting, cook off all bacon.
Now, you can build your burger.
Pile it high. Burger bun, then the patty, then the bacon and garnish with BBQ sauce and pickles. Booyah.
