Candied lemon bacon twists

Learn how to make twisted bacon aka the viral bacon sensation that's the perfect combination of crispy crunchy edges and soft bacon goodness. Made with lemon juice and brown sugar, these candied bites are the perfect appetizer for your party.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 lbs bacon
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Directions

  1. In a large roasting rack, line with tin foil and evenly coat with vegetable oil. 
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. 
  3. In a large mixing bowl, separate out bacon and place in the bowl. 
  4. Season bacon with lemon and sugar and mix to ensure even coating. 
  5. Remove one piece of bacon at a time and twist to create a thinner piece that's twisted about four or five times. 
  6. Once twisted place on oiled tin foil roasting rack and repeat with each piece of bacon, be sure to leave half an inch of room between each piece of bacon.
  7. Once all the bacon is on the roasting rack, place in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until bacon is dark golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
