Deconstructed apple pie

Ingredients
- 1 ready-made pie crust
- 1 tablespoon (15 milliliter) butter
- 3 Golden Delicious apples
- 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon (0.5 milliliters) salt
- Icing sugar, for garnish
Directions
- Bake pie crust. Break into chunks.
- Core, peel, and slice apples into wedges.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt to the skillet. Stir to combine. Once ingredients have melted together, add apple wedges and stir to coat evenly. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes or until soft and caramelized.
- Divide apple mixture between four serving dishes and top with chunks of pie crust. Garnish with icing sugar.
