Faux-ritos

Ingredients

  • 6 corn tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons nutrional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Stack tortillas one on top of the other and cut into 6 even triangles.  Place triangles in a large bowl with oil and toss to coat.
  3. In a small bowl mix all the remaining ingredients until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle spice mixture over tortilla triangles, and toss to coat ensuring each tortilla is completed covered with spice.
  5. Arrange tortillas triangles on a baking sheet and place in oven. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the edges of the tortilla are slightly browned. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 1 hour to allow the tortillas to crisp up.
  6. Enjoy right away or store in an air-tight container for later consumption.
