Frank and beans

This is just comfort food. Super delicious, but uses up cans of beans, condiments we have laying around and also leftover sausage or hot dogs from BBQing that we don’t know what to do with. You can even use leftover cooked hot dogs or sausages- they don’t need to be raw.

Ingredients

  • 455 grams hot dogs or sausages
  • 6 strips of bacon, chopped
  • 2 x 828 milliliter cans of good canned beans
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Dijon
  • 1/2 cup leftover BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • Salt and pepper

Directions

  1. In a pot, sautée the sausage or hot dogs with garlic and bacon until nicely coloured.
  2. Once finished, put every other ingredient into the pot and cook on low for 20 minutes until everything is combined.
  3. Serve with toast and fried eggs.
