French toast stars with Nutella

Sponsored By:

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup (150 milliliters) milk
  • 4 teaspoons (20 milliliters) granulated sugar
  • Pinch cinnamon
  • 4 teaspoons (20 milliliters) butter
  • 8 slices day-old brioche
  • 1/3 cup (75 milliliters) NUTELLA (approximately)
  • Icing sugar, for decorating

Directions

  1. In a shallow plate, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon. Heat one teaspoon (five milliliters) butter in a nonstick skillet set over medium-low heat.
  2. Dip a few brioche slices in egg mixture for a few seconds; cook for two to three minutes on one side or until golden brown. Turn over; cook for two to three minutes or until golden brown on bottom.
  3. Transfer French toast onto plate; keep warm. Repeat with remaining brioche slices, adding butter to skillet as needed. Using a one centimeter star cookie cutter, cut out stars from French toast.
  4. Evenly spread 1/4 cup (60 milliliters) NUTELLA over four French toast stars; sandwich with remaining stars. Sprinkle with icing sugar.

TIP:

If desired, spoon NUTELLA into a small piping bag fitted with a small tip or into a resealable plastic bag with snipped corner; pipe outline over French toast stars.
