Labrador tea cider

A warm, relaxing drink perfect for the coldest days, this Labrador tea cider is a cross between a tea and apple cider. With aromatic cinnamon, a hint of lemon and the incredible Boreal Heartland Labrador Tea, it's a real treat.
Ingredients
- 1 litre unsweetened apple juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon Boreal Heartland Labrador Tea
- 1 cup (250 ml) boiling water
- Maple syrup to sweeten
Directions
- In a large pot, combine apple juice, cinnamon stick, lemon juice and grated ginger. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer about five minutes. Remove cinnamon stick.
- Pour boiling water over one tablespoon Labrador tea (about 20 full leaves if using whole leaves), loose or in a tea ball. Let steep for five minutes. Strain leaves or remove tea ball and add brewed tea to apple juice. Sweeten with maple syrup if desired.
- NOTE: Always steep, never boil Labrador tea.
