Salted caramel popcorn

  • 10 cup plain popped popcorn
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 10 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Sea salt, to taste


  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pour the popcorn in to a large bowl, and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat while stirring.
  4. When the mixture begins to bubble, turn the heat to low and continue cooking and stirring for another 2 minutes.
  5. Remove  from heat, and pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn. Make sure you coat the popcorn evenly.
  6. Dump the mixture out on to a lined sheet pan and spread apart.
  7. Sprinkle salt over the popcorn. Test one of the pieces to ensure you've added salt to your liking.
  8. Let the popcorn sit for a few minutes to allow the caramel to harden.
