Strawberry basil gin fizz

Subtly sweet, a little tart, and truly refreshing!

Ingredients
- 8 strawberries, sliced
- 4–5 basil leaves, chopped
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 1/2 lemon, zested and juiced
- Ice
- 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons gin
- 1/2 cup sparkling water
- Strawberries and basil, for garnish
Directions
- Set out two highball glasses and divide the strawberries, basil, sugar, and lemon zest between the two glasses. Using the end of a wooden spoon, muddle everything together until jammy.
- Add in the lemon juice and stir well to combine and dissolve any gritty sugar.
- Add a handful of ice to each glass and pour over the gin. Stir well then top with the sparkling water and garnish with a strawberry and a bit of basil. Enjoy!
