Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Directions
- Wash the potatoes and cut them into ½-inch thick steak fries, keeping the skin on.
- Place the potatoes in cold water and soak for about 30 minutes. The longer they stay in the water, the crispier they will become, so soaking them for an hour would be ideal!
- Drain the potatoes and place them on paper towels to dry thoroughly. Place the cut potatoes into a bowl and season with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Place the potatoes on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 25–35 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden and crispy
Tip: Place the baking sheet in the oven as it preheats. Once the baking sheet is hot, carefully place the potatoes onto it. This will help the fries get extra crispy!
