Granola bars

Made with your favourite add-ins, these bars are the perfect on-the-go snack.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup golden sultans, cranberries or raisins (optional)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 cup of chocolate and a few tablespoons of 15% cream
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350° F.
- Combine flour, baking soda, oats and salt in a bowl.
- Cream together brown sugar and butter, and add egg in a mixer.
- Mix in dry ingredients, slowly incorporating them. Do not throw it all in at once or it will make a big mess!
- Add in your optional ingredients in any way you want. You can also add chocolate bar pieces or M&Ms.
- Line the bottom and sides of a nine by nine pan with parchment paper and press dough firmly into the pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown on top.
- Cool for 20 minutes and cut into bars while still slightly warm.
- Once cooled, melt some chocolate in a double boiler. Incorporate a few tbsp of 15% cream as it melts to make a smooth chocolate sauce.
- Dip the bars in chocolate and let harden in the fridge and enjoy!
