Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 to 3 whole chocolate balls, grated
  • 2 cups milk, more or less as desired
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon fresh nutmeg, grated, or 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk or sugar/sweetener of choice, as desired

Directions

  1. Combine the water and cinnamon stick in a medium-sized saucepan, then bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  2. Add the grated chocolate and nutmeg and stir well. Reduce heat to medium-low and allow the chocolate tea to simmer for about 15 minutes. Then add in the milk and stir until heated through.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and gently stir in the vanilla. When ready to serve, strain well, sweeten to taste with condensed milk or sugar and serve while hot. Enjoy!
