Brewed green tea with ginger and lemon
Ingredients
- 4 to 5 cups water
- 2 ½ -inch piece of fresh ginger (unpeeled is okay), coarsely chopped
- 1 tablespoons Manuka honey
- 3 bags of green tea or 3 servings of good quality loose-leaf green tea leaves
- ½ lemon squeezed
Directions
1. Place 2 cups water and the ginger into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in the honey. Remove the pan from heat and add the tea bags. Steep for 3 minutes, and then strain out all the solids.
2. In a large pitcher combine the strained tea with the remaining 2 cups water. Add lemon juice.
3. You can drink this warm, hot or chill in the refrigerator. Serve over ice
