Five-seed crackers

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup sesame seeds, plain
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin seeds, plain and unsalted
  • 1/2 cup flax seeds, plain
  • 1/3 cup hemp seeds, plain
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan sea salt
  • 1-1/4 cup lukewarm water

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and set the oven shelf to the middle position.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add all the seeds, along with turmeric, pepper and salt, and stir to combine.
  3. Pour in the water, stir and set aside to soak for 15 minutes. You'll notice the mixture will soak up all the water and thicken.
  4. Transfer the soaked seed mixture onto a large baking tray. Using a spatula, spread the mixture evenly to create a very thin layer.
  5. Bake for an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes or until completely dry and crispy.
  6. Once cooled, crack into medium pieces (about 20 pieces) and store in an airtight container for seven days.
