Lemony lime BBQ margarita
Ingredients
- Juice of 2 limes
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup
- 45 milliliters (1.5 ounce) tequila
- 1 teaspoon cherry bbq sauce
- Salt and steak rub for riming
- Lime wedges for garnish
Cherry BBQ sauce:
- 1 1/2 cups ketchup
- 3/4 cup cherry jam
- 1/4 cup dark molasses
- 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoons green sriracha
- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon
- 1 tablespoon dehydrated minced onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
Directions
- To a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add lemon and lime juice, simple syrup, tequila and bbq sauce. Shake vigorously for a minute or so.
- Rim a cocktail glass with a mixture of the salt and steak rub. Fill the glass with ice and pour margarita over ice. Enjoy!
Cherry BBQ sauce:
- Add all ingredients to a small pot, mix well and bring to a boil. Simmer for a few minutes.
