Flammekueche (Alsatian Pizza)

Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup crème fraîche
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Kosher salt to taste
- 1 cup thinly sliced muenster cheese (with cumin if available)
- 5 strips bacon, cut into matchsticks
- 1 medium white onion, thinly sliced
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry to fit a 13x8 baking sheet. Place the pie in the pan.
- Add crème fraîche, nutmeg, and salt to a small bowl to taste. Mix to combine.
- Spread the crème fraîche mixture over the surface of the dough, leaving a two-centimetre border around the edge.
- Top with the muenster cheese, and sprinkle the bacon and sliced onion evenly over the surface.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- Cut into squares and serve immediately. Enjoy!
