Tomato and lentil dip

Hearty lentils come together with bright and juicy tomatoes to make the perfect dip. 



  • 1/2 cup lentils (cooked)
  • 1/2 cup grape tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh minced ginger
  • 1 hot chili, finely sliced
  • 1 teaaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, finely sliced
  • 1/4 cup green onion, finely sliced
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons citrus juice (lemon or lime )


  1. Heat the oil in a large nonstick pan and add the ginger, garlic, and chili and cook until soft  Add the spices and cook for another minute until toasted and perfumed. 
  2. Add the tomatoes, and cooked lentils reduce the heat to medium to cook until the lentils start to break down and the water from the tomatoes reduces. 
  3. Add the citrus juice and season to taste. 
  4. Add in the fresh cilantro and scallions and serve with fresh vegetables. Enjoy!
