Easy Pretzels and Beer Cheese

Feed your hungry crowd these deliciously salty and soft pretzels with a beer-infused gooey cheese dip. It's an excellent recipe for pro and novice bakers alike. Using yeast can be intimidating for some, but these four-ingredient pretzels are simple and ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients
Pretzels
- 3 cups all-purpose flour + more for dusting
- 3 cups greek yogurt
- 4 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, for egg wash
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoon salt
Beer Cheese
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup milk
- 2/3 cup beer
- 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups sharp cheddar, shredded
- 1 cup gruyere or swiss cheese, shredded
Directions
Pretzels
- Preheat oven to 450F
- Mix flour, greek yogurt, baking powder, and salt until a shaggy dough forms. Dump dough onto a floured work surface and lightly knead.
- Divide dough into 10 to 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a thin, rope-like shape.
- Grab both ends and twist the dough into a pretzel shape. Pinch the seems
- Heavily brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds and salt.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until a dark golden brown.
Beer Cheese
- Into a pan placed over medium heat, melt butter.
- Once melted, add in flour and whisk into a paste. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Pour in milk, followed by beer. Be sure to be whisking constantly.
- Once thickened, add in dijon, Worcestershire sauce, and cheese. Stir until melted
Serve
- Serve pretzels and the beer cheese as a dip. Enjoy!
