Three-Ingredient Drinking Chocolate Ingredients
- 500ml whole milk (or water + ground maize for ancient style)
- 100g dark chocolate (70–85% cacao), finely chopped
- 1 pinch dried chili powder (cayenne or ancho)
- Optional modern addition: 1 tsp vanilla extract or a cinnamon stick
Directions
- Heat milk in a saucepan over medium-low until steaming (do not boil).
- Whisk in chopped chocolate and chili powder until fully melted and smooth.
- Use a molinillo or a whisk to froth vigorously.
- Pour into small clay cups. Serve immediately.
