Cucumber basil smash

  • 37 millilitres (1.25 ounce) vodka
  • 7 millilitres (1/4 ounce) St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • 22 millilitres (3/4 ounce) lime juice
  • 9 millilitres (1/3 ounce) simple syrup
  • 6 cucumber slices
  • 2 sprigs basil
  • 15 millilitres (1/2 ounce) soda


  1. In a Collins glass, layer ice and three cucumber slices. Grab a shaker and muddle the rest of the cucumber slices and one sprig of Basil. Add the rest of the ingredients (except soda), fill with ice and give this a vigorous shake. Strain over prepped glass and top with soda. Garnish with basil sprig.
  2. To add a bit of complexity to this, you can use Orgeat Syrup (aka almond syrup) that would pair beautifully with this bright, refreshing cocktail.
